Not sure if this has been suggested, but how about one major change that would limit the amount of messages some people get - make use of the connection system.

Allow people to send and receive messages only with whom they're connected with.

When searching for users, add in a search bar for interests? So I can find users who also enjoy watching anime.

The ability to remove your wall entries from another person's wall. I can edit it, but I can't completely remove it.

Thank yous should be ordered top to bottom on how recent it was as opposed to when I posted that post.

Friends should be ordered left to right based on when they are last online. Friends that are online should be bumped more left than people who are offline. Would help more on people's accounts that have more than 22 connections.
